Skeins Privacy Policy

Skeins by Grant Point ("Skeins," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by Landing NYC Designs, LLC (d/b/a Grant Point Designs). This policy explains what information the Skeins mobile app collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Skeins app on both Apple iOS (via the App Store) and Android (via Google Play).

Information we collect

  • Account information. When you create an account, we collect an account identifier and email address. Depending on how you sign in, this comes from Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Google, or an email address and password you provide. Passwords are never stored in readable form.
  • Subscription information. Your subscription status and entitlement (for example, whether your trial or plan is active) and a history of your purchases.
  • Device information. A per-device identifier used to enforce our device limit (a personal account may be used on up to 2 devices; store/shop accounts may allow more).
  • Your content. Canvas estimates, project logs, notes, your thread stash, and — if you choose to save them — small thumbnail images of the canvases you photograph. Full-resolution photos are processed on your device and are not uploaded; only the thumbnail you save with an estimate is stored.
  • Store (shop) information. If you use Skeins as part of a shop workspace, we store the store's name, membership, roles, and the shared canvas log and custom threads for that store.

We do not collect analytics or advertising identifiers, and Skeins contains no third-party advertising.

How we use your information
We use your information to provide the app's features (matching canvas colors to real thread, estimating thread quantities, saving your logs and stash, syncing across your devices), to manage your account and subscription, and to provide customer support. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Payments and subscriptions
Skeins subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store (on iOS) or Google Play Billing (on Android), depending on your device. We never receive or store your credit card or payment details — those are handled entirely by Apple or Google. We use RevenueCat to manage and verify your subscription entitlement across your devices. You can manage or cancel a subscription anytime in your App Store or Google Play account settings.

Photos and camera
The estimator uses your camera or photo library to let you photograph a canvas. Color matching happens on your device. We do not upload your full photos; if you save an estimate, a small thumbnail image is stored with that estimate so you can recognize it later.

How your information is stored and secured

  • Account, subscription, log, and stash data are stored in our backend provider, Supabase, protected by row-level security so you can only access your own data (or, for shop accounts, your store's shared data).
  • Sensitive values on your device are stored using the platform's secure storage — the iOS Keychain on Apple devices and Android's encrypted storage (Keystore / EncryptedSharedPreferences) on Android devices.
  • Traffic between the app and our services is encrypted in transit.

Third-party services
We share the minimum data necessary with service providers that operate the app: Apple and Google (sign-in and payments), RevenueCat (subscription management), and Supabase (secure data storage and sync). If you connect a needlepoint shop through the app's Local Needlepoint Shops feature, your shopping list is sent to that shop's own website or store platform (for example, Shopify) to build your order. Each of these providers handles data under its own privacy terms. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing.

Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. Some records may be retained where required by law, or by Apple or Google, for transaction and tax purposes.

Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account at any time from within the app: go to Settings → Account → Delete account. This removes your account records and synced data from our systems. Locally stored data is removed when you delete the app from your device. If you need help deleting your account or data, contact us at help@grantpointdesigns.com.

Children's privacy
Skeins is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your choices and rights
You may access, update, or delete your account information from within the app, or by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data; contact us to exercise them.

Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
